How does one keep going when everything in you is crying stop? How does one stop when everything in you is crying out, do it? These two questions answered and acted upon, would cure obesity, drug addictions, laziness, and most marriage problems. Yes, we can get physically addicted to substances, yes, we can form habits that create impregnable strongholds, yes, we can get exhausted, sick and emotionally worn out. The answer to stopping something, or to keep going does not lie in our feelings, circumstances, or the people around us. It is not something we have to purchase, like an app on our phone, or trinket we wear around our neck (crystals etc.) or a seminar we attend. The answer is simply; think differently.

This is the sermon series we are in right now. Think Differently.

This Sunday we are thrilled to have Wendy Farha with us. She knows a thing or two about the mind, as she was diagnosed with clinical depression (in 2000) and with an aggressive form breast cancer (2009). During her time with us, in the women’s conference and on Sunday morning, she will share how God can use suffering in our lives and how He can bring good out of even the most difficult experiences.

And on the following Sunday, I will be zeroing in on breaking those strongholds in our thinking that bring negative instead of positive results.

The bible is clear on what we should be thinking about. It says in Philippians 4:8-9 “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me or seen in me--put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.”

Stop and take a moment to think about the power of these words:

True, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, anything that is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things. Apply one or more of these eight words (concepts) to your situation the next time you want to give up or can’t seemingly stop doing a harmful habit and see how it makes a difference. Bring your thinking in line with the positive and life altering power of the Holy Spirit by finding what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent or praiseworthy in the situation you are in. This will require practice and discipline of the mind. At first it will not be easy. You will be tempted to think untrue, ignoble, unrighteous, impure, loveless, despicable thoughts that are not excellent or praiseworthy. You may even feel justified in this negative and self-defeating thinking. But it will not be good for you in the end. Your joy will leave you. When your joy goes, so does your strength. When strength has been depleted; we fall.

It need not be. God has given us the key to successful, overcoming, fruitful lives, simply by applying these eight concepts to every situation we face. Start today. Think Differently.

KCF Membership Classes

Freedom Ladies Conference

This coming weekend Freedom Ladies Conference begins and will be fun, funny, and fantastic as individuals find “freedom” to live, to laugh, and to love as God intended for every woman. Freedom Ladies Conference begins Friday, September 21 at 6pm for registration and continues all day on Saturday with a breakfast at 8am. Wendy Farha, the keynote speaker, is well known as a song writer, singer, comedian, and inspirational speaker. She has been writing songs & performing since 1978. Wendy has performed before thousands of people in venues all over Canada & the United States.

Wendy’s diagnosis of clinical depression in 2000 and then breast cancer in 2009 has given her an empathy for those suffering from sickness, mental illness, and from the many difficulties we experience in this life.

Community Thanksgiving Dinner

KCF invites all to the Annual Thanksgiving Community Turkey dinner. 

We are looking forward to this fun time where we can gather as a church family alongside the community to enjoy a yummy meal together. This is a free event, and all are welcome.
