If God Exists

Want to find out if God exists? Before you answer that question, you might want to think about it a bit. Most people believe that there is a god, but not a God with a big G. There are very few atheists in the world. Most people are okay with god just not an all powerful, all knowing, and always present God. That is just too scary. Instead, we have reduced God to a god of our own making - our own idea of divinity, that fits into our sense of comfort. What if you found out beyond a shadow of a doubt that God the Almighty existed? And that he loves you. That this great big God who knows everything, is all powerful, and always present, actually wants to be in relationship with us, deliver us, and help us to succeed in life. This is good news. When we try to exist without God, life can spiral out of control. Even those that have it all together testify of a giant void in their lives when the Almighty is absent.

Let me be clear, God is scary. He is holy, powerful, and vast. But he is also loving, compassionate, merciful and personal. There is one thing that God wants above all else in the universe, and that is to have a relationship with his creation. For that reason, there is one prayer that God will always answer. It is a prayer of “show me that you exist.” Not a God of our imagination, or what some religion has determined, but the true one God who exists to love us, protect us, deliver us, to heal us and to save us.

The god you believe in may not be the one true God. If you want to know the one known as God Almighty; ask him to reveal himself to you. He always answers that prayer. God is only scary when we are distant from him. When he reveals himself to us and we give ourselves to him; the “scary” part is transformed into a deep sense of comfort and peace knowing that this all-powerful God is now my God, my Father, my Saviour. There is nothing like it in the world.

This Sunday, I am going to talk about the prayer that God always answers, God do you exist? The message will encourage and comfort us, knowing that God will always show up in our deepest time of need and inquiry.

See you this Sunday.

This Sunday we will be having baptism for followers of Jesus. This is for those that are choosing to put their past behind them and follow Jesus. Baptism is a one-time act, but then it requires of us to put our past behind us every day thereafter. If you have not been baptized as an adult and are choosing to make Jesus your Lord and are desirous to be a follower of Him, then you are a candidate for baptism. Email me and we can discuss this with you.
