His powerful words

Jesus in action is incredible to read about! And yet, when you read in Mark the amazing miracles that Jesus did, you actually find that he didn’t ‘do’ that much, if you know what I mean. It wasn’t some elaborate process Jesus went through to make healing happen, it was very often just a touch or with a few words: “Be silent, and come out of him”; “...be clean”; “Rise, pick up your bed and go home”; “Stretch out your hand”, and it was done! Stunning! 

There was enough in those spoken words to change things completely, to still a storm, to heal the sick, to raise the dead. These words had authority! The people were astonished at his authority. His words carried power. The spoken words of the creator of all things speaking again - every atom, every molecule subject to his voice, ready to do his bidding. 

Psalm 29 speaks of this power…  “The VOICE of the LORD is over the waters… The VOICE of the LORD is powerful… The VOICE of the LORD is full of majesty… The VOICE of the LORD shakes the wilderness… The VOICE of the LORD makes the deer give birth and strips the forests bare… and in his temple all cry, “GLORY”.”

And in these stories he is speaking again and everything has to obey his words. Jesus in action is incredible to read about… Jesus in action is incredible to see… He is still speaking and his words carry power and life. His words change us, and his words change things around us. “And in his temple all cry “GLORY”.

This Sunday we are looking at his powerful words, “Stretch out your hand”. He has come to restore and heal and make whole.

Jesus, we invite your powerful word to change us and to bring life. Have your way. Turn lives around, changing us forever.

 An Important note about Parking at KCF

On Sundays, since the Share store is closed and ODB is not operating, we have more parking spots available than usual such as the staff parking and the SHARE Store parking; however, it is very important that we not park in any spots that are reserved for paying tenants, so if you see a reserved sign, it is imperative those are kept free for the tenants who are paying for those parking spots. Thank you for your consideration.

 The Lookout

The Lookout space for our vibrant children’s ministry is now being used! A big thank you to all who have contributed time and resources to make this happen.

 Food Bank

Our Food Bank is in regular operation every Thursday from 9 to 11am!

We are always accepting donations of non-perishable food items, so feel free to drop items off that have been lingering in your cupboards. There will be a bin on site on Sundays during our gathering too!

Volunteers are needed Thursdays from 8:30 – 11:10am. If you are interested or would like more information, please contact Tyler Bethune at odb@odboffice.com.
