Hello Saints:

Somebody said to me, “Jim, you have the Midas Touch.”  I wasn’t sure if it was a compliment, a prophetic message to work on cars, or an insult. So I looked it up. Apparently, in Greek mythology King Midas was said to have the ability to turn anything he touched into gold. The saying according to Ask.com, “’Midas Touch' is now commonly used to refer to someone who is successful at all he or she does. They cannot fail, because they have the Midas Touch.” Well, I think my friend was overstating (a lot) my abilities, but it led me to a question. What is it that makes some people more successful than others? You could say it is a gift, their IQ, one’s hard work and discipline, or just plain luck. All of these may be necessary and a factor in achieving success.  But there is still one ingredient missing. I call it the X factor.

The bible calls it Faith. Without faith, nothing is possible. With faith, nothing is impossible. You may feel the above statement is exaggerated, but wait: You get up to go to the fridge, because you have faith that the thing kept your food edible. You put the key in the ignition because you have faith it will start. You go to work each day because you have faith that there will be a cheque at the end of the week.  Faith gets you up and gets you going. So we all exercise faith to some degree. But to go beyond the mundane - to achieve success you have to attempt something that has the element of risk, failure, and disappointment. This is the X factor. Are you willing to face the possibility of failure, embarrassment and defeat, but try anyway. Now we are talking about Faith that brings success. This is the faith that moves mountains, finds solutions, and transforms marriages. This is the faith that awakens your spirit, changes one’s life, and heals a broken heart. Where do you get the X factor? It comes from God.  You can’t work for it, buy it, or trade for it. The X factor is simply given the moment you trust God for your situation, for the task you face, the challenge before you.

This Sunday, I will be talking about the X factor. I will be sharing why some have it and others don’t and steps to activate the X factor (Faith) in your life.

See you this Sunday and continue on your AMAZING journey.

Annual General Meeting March 30 at 1pm.

This is a members meeting required by our constitution and the province of British Columbia. If you are not a member, but consider KCF to be your church family, or you are interested in what is going on at KCF, you are welcome to attend. However, since it is a legal meeting, you will not be able bring forth motions, speak to a motion on the floor or vote.  At this meeting we will be presenting the financials, giving an update on our future plans, and setting in our council for the coming year.
