Hello Saints:

Ordinary people doing extraordinary things

When you think of the giants in the faith, people who stand out as full of faith, have you ever once consider their imperfections?

Moses had a speech impediment.

David was just a boy when he killed Goliath.

Abraham had trouble telling the truth.

Peter was impetuous and kept shooting his mouth off.

Thomas another one of the disciples was a doubter and got the nickname Doubting Thomas.

These were all examples of ordinary people who were able to extraordinary things in their lives. God revels in taking ordinary people that have messed up lives, the ones that are hurting, the broken and damaged ones and transforms them into world changers.

Now the truth is that many of us will not be famous because of some awesome cure we discovered, or some life changing machine you developed, or solving world hunger.  You might achieve one of the above and you just might win the lottery, both are not likely though. But God does call ordinary people to do extraordinary things. God calls us to do extraordinary things like showing kindness when others don't, like being generous towards those who have been forgotten, like caring even though you are in your own pain. The twelve Jesus chose were all candidates for the most unlikely to succeed, yet they were world changers. They did not set out to be world changers, but simply to live out the life of the one who lived in them, Jesus.  Jesus is the difference, which is where faith comes in. Faith says it is not all about me.  Jesus beckons us, through faith, to put our lives in the hands of God and allow His life to flow through us. As you do, it may surprise you of the extraordinary things you begin to do. Things like showing love, when hatred and anger would be more appropriate, like helping even though it is inconvenient, like forgiving when that is the last thing you want to do.

As you live like this, you may not be a world changer, but I can assure you, you will change someone’s world.

Annual General Meeting March 30 at 1pm.

This is a members meeting required by our constitution and the province of British Columbia. If you are not a member, but consider KCF to be your church family, or you are interested in what is going on at KCF, you are welcome to attend. However, since it is a legal meeting, you will not be able bring forth motions, speak to a motion on the floor or vote.  At this meeting we will be presenting the financials, giving an update on our future plans, and setting in our council for the coming year.
