Blog

June 23, 2016

Pastor Jim is taking his vacation for the next few weeks.  You will continue to receive the weekly Blog but without Pastor’s devotional.  This Sunday we welcome Pastor Bryan Henry who will be our Special Guest Speaker.  Bryan will be speaking on “Weakness”.

Come, Glorify – Free Concert

Come out on June 28 at 7:30 to this free concert featuring Justin Arndt, Jacob van der Holt, Brad Wilson and Matthew Osepchook.   The place to be is Shambhala Music and Performance Hall, 820 Tenth Street, Nelson.  Donations accepted in support of Nelson Community Christian School.

Baptisms!

On Sunday, July 10 we will be baptizing at Lakeside Park after the Church Celebration.  Join us to witness and celebrate this wonderful time where hearts will be publicly surrendered to Jesus.  After the baptisms we will enjoy a picnic in the park, so pack a bite to eat. If you have been sensing God calling you to baptism, please contact the office.

Mystery Dinners

There will be no Mystery Dinners in July in lieu of the Volunteer Appreciation Barbeque.

Canada Day

On Friday, July 1st, KCF, S.H.A.R.E. Nelson and Our Daily Bread will have a tent set up to bring awareness to our ministries and bless the community with cotton candy and popcorn as well as activities for kids.  Please contact the office if you are able to assist with the initial set up at 7:30am, assist with the cotton candy and popcorn or be involved with activities for the kids.

PART (Peddle Along a Rail Trail) 11

This super fun bike ride with a purpose is set to happen on Saturday, August 13, 2016.  Come and join us for this incredibly scenic 4 to 5 hour ride with trestles, tunnels and spectacular views from high above the Arrow Lake.  It is a 54 km ride starting at Paulson Detour Road and concluding at the Celgar Mill parking lot.  This is a fundraiser for Our Daily Bread.  With sponsorships of $125 or more, your entry fee will be waived.  Registration forms are available at the Guest Table on Sunday, at the office during the week or at kootenaychristianfellowship.com.  If you are not able to go on the bike ride, you can  sponsor a rider!

Family Camp

Why not consider taking a part of your holidays to join us for family camp this year.  This is an inexpensive opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, Kootenay Lake, beautiful mountains and beaches, plus be inspired and encouraged all at the same time.  Registration Brochures are available on our website at kootenaychristianfellowship.com, at the church office or at the guest table on Sunday.  There are families that would like to attend camp but are unable to afford the cost.  Please consider contributing financially towards sending others to camp that otherwise could not go.  Any contribution is welcome.  Contact the office to make arrangements.

Plastic Bags

There is an ongoing need for plastic grocery bags at Our Daily Bread.  If you have an abundance at home, we would be happy to receive them here.  Please bring them to the KCF office.
