Is No A Bad Word?
Are you able to say “no”. No to your appetite? No to your whims? No to your kids? No to your dog?
We are becoming a wishy-washy culture. Do whatever you like, just do it safely is the mantra of the day. Some things are better not to be done. Period. One of the nine fruits of the spirit is self-control. How much self-control do you have? “No” has become an oppressive word, when it actually is a protective word, a liberating word, an empowering word. Apostle Paul writes to Timothy prophesying what it will be like in the last days. One of the characteristics will be a “lack of self-control”. (2 Timothy 3:1-5)
In preparation for this Sunday’s message, read Jeremiah 35. You too can say NO. Experience the protection, liberation, and blessing of the ninth gift of the Holy Spirit, self-control – Pastor Jim Reimer.
