Sabbath
I was reading the book; Rest of God by Mark Buchanan and I came across this little piece. “We spend most of our lives breaking Sabbath and never figure out that this is part of the reason your work’s unsatisfying, your friendships patchy, your leisure threadbare, your vacations exhausting.”
Maybe, you can relate to some of it, or all of it. Who is satisfied with their work, not many. Don’t you think it strange that we need to come back to work to rest after time off. All of nature teaches us to take time to rest. Bears hibernate, fruit trees go dormant, and birds fly south (ok that might not fit). Humans often don’t take a rest, so sickness becomes their Sabbath. There is a better way. We can learn to Sabbath well, so we can live well. This Sunday, I will be sharing what and how to Sabbath. Invite a friend, a family member, or neighbor for a refreshing Sunday experience - Pastor Jim Reimer.
