Holy Spirit and the Gifts

I tell my wife, having the right tools for the job is essential as I browse the Rona aisle. Carpenters can’t do their job with mechanic tools. Now mechanics can do a carpenter job, (and vice versa) but they have to lay down the crescent wrench and pick up the hammer. When I renovated my basement, I took on the task of installing the baseboards. To be effective, you need the right tools. I needed up to twelve different tools. I liken this to the gifts of the Holy Spirit. God gives us specific gifts for specific occasions, so we can be an effective representative of Christ here on earth. And when we come together in the church, each functioning with the gifts God has given to each of us, we can be a blessing to our community. This Sunday, I will be continuing my sermon series, entitled Forgotten God Revealed - Holy Spirit and Gifts. It is His intention that we are equipped with the right tools to do the job God has called us to. Come and see what God is doing? Learn about the gifts. It makes being a disciple fun and effective – Pastor Jim Reimer.
