Holy and Blameless

Have you ever thought of yourself as “holy and blameless”? Probably not. And if you did, some might cry “narcissist.” Yet Holy and Blameless can be our reality when one has experienced forgiveness of sins by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is a most exhilarating concept, but often not understood or lived out. In the world of Sport, Psychology and Business, it is commonly understood, one must first believe and see themselves as reaching their goal, even as they strive towards them. Begin today what you want to be tomorrow.

God in his infinite love for us, has declared us to be Holy and Blameless. We are not yet, but in a process of becoming what God has decreed. This is good news for the struggling marriage, the failing business, the confused teenager, the desperate addict, the lonely elder. God is working. Here is the promise, that we would “become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:13) The first three chapters of Ephesians lays out the promise, while the last three chapters works out the details. This Sunday, I will be talking about becoming mature and attaining fullness of Christ.

If you are tired of the status quo of mediocracy, failures, and disappointments, this message is for you.

Looking forward to seeing you Sunday at 10:30 or 10 to join us for pre-service prayer – Pastor Jim Reimer.

Growth Groups are Back!

It has been a lovely summer but missing one very special thing…our small groups.

Gatherings will begin again mid-September and Now is the time to Register. Groups will meet at 6 Mile, Herridge Place, the Reimer home and on Zoom Wednesday evenings @ 7pm.

This is our time to get to know one another better, share our lives, pray, study the previous Sunday’s sermon and eat dessert together.

We hope you are able to take part. Sign up on Sunday at the Information Table or simply reply to this email of your interest.

Thanksgiving

As the air is getting more refreshing, we are reminded that Thanksgiving is around the corner.

We are beginning to plan for the annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner which is free to the community. We hope you are able to make this part of your celebrations on Monday, Oct 14 at KCF/ODB. We are seeking volunteers for various roles including serving, prep cooking, dishwashers, table clearers, set up and clean up, cooking a turkey in your home, or donating a bird. Please reply to this email if you are interested in lending a hand by taking part.

Our Daily Bread

Here is a video link that captures the heart of ODB. We hope you can take a moment to click on the link and watch it. We also invite you to share this link far and wide. https://youtu.be/BNJbNrIdQkY?si=I5Yip9tu08MoYKvf

Please pray for provision for Our Daily Bread.
