What's Up @ KCF

Someone said to me, I am glad we are on the other side (Christmas). Do you feel like that? Christmas is over and you can get back to the normal routine of life? I cannot count how many people said to me, let’s get together over the break for a coffee or a visit. I wonder - why not get together through out the year, instead of trying to cram it all within 20 days or so?

One thing we don’t do well is “savour the moment.” As a culture, we jump from one thing to the next. As a result, relationships suffer, tensions rise, and we never feel fulfilled or satisfied. Always looking for the next best thing.

There is an old Christmas carol called the “Twelve Days of Christmas” celebrating and giving of gifts from Christmas day to Epiphany, January 6. In today’s dollars, these gifts did not come cheap. According to PNC Bank's 41st annual Christmas Price Index, the cost of all the gifts in The 12 Days of Christmas is $49,263.47 in 2024. Total number of gifts given adds up to 364 gifts, for total price tag of $209,272.

I thought it might be inspiring to look at this and see what in fact these gifts mean to us today.

Join us for an interesting and inspirational last Sunday of 2024. And a happy New Year to you all – Pastor Jim Reimer.
