What's Up @ KCF

And… here we are, welcome to the new year! 2026!  What will this year hold? What joys? What hardships? What breakthroughs and growth? What life?  What hopes and dreams do we have for this year?  Each year has such potential.

Maybe, we are also a little daunted by a new year and what lies ahead? How will we get through? How will we break through? How will we keep going? Maybe there are specific challenges that are on our minds.

As I was thinking about this, I couldn’t help but have the truth of Christmas ringing in my ear… Jesus - God to the rescue! The saving God, rescuing us out of all of our messes, the mess of things done to us, and the mess of the things we have done. He is constantly bringing his freedom as we turn to him. And then… Emmanuel - The with us God! His steady, faithful presence with us, never leaving us, always with us, present with us by the Holy Spirit. We are never alone!

This is who we have with us to journey through this year… the God who rescues and saves and the one who is always there. There is so much hope for this year! We can let ourselves feel daunted by the year ahead, or walk each day holding onto these truths.

Whatever hopes and dreams we have this year… I believe God has some for us. He has a plan and a purpose to lead us forward, he has a purpose to increase his life in us, to increase his fruitfulness in our lives. He has a plan for his church to flourish and grow. So this Sunday, I want to answer the question, not so much, what are our hopes and dreams, but what are God’s? What is he hoping for in us? What is he looking for in us this year? And when we walk in that I promise you, whatever hard things come our way, whatever ups and downs, joy will abound.

Love to all,

Andrew
