The world is engrossed in wars. Of the 195 nations that make up the world, 130 of them are in some sort of physical conflict. My uncles were passivist, (Mennonites) and refused to enlist in the World War 11. They believed the Christian position was not to kill and engage in physical combat. Yet the bible is replete with wars, fighting, celebrating heroes of conquest. Then I see this verse, “For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.” (2 Corinthians 10:3-4)
I asked the question, ‘so what are these weapons we use to fight’ that Paul speaks of? This Sunday, I will be speaking on this, answering the question, what does God want us to use to fight the demonic and spiritual powers of wickedness.
To know our weapons and how to use them is important. Paul taught the Church at Ephesus, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” (Ephesians 6:12)
God wants us to live a victorious life, filled with conquest, success, and bringing Kingdom advancement in our homes, community and even in our nation. And he has given us the tools do it.
This Sunday, I will be sharing the message that when practiced has the power to transform your spiritual life.
Bring a friend, looking forward to seeing you – Jim Reimer.
This past weekend (April 10–12) marked my formal retirement, with a special banquet on Friday night and an inspirational worship service on Sunday morning. It was a deeply moving and honouring weekend.
Doreen, (if she were with us) would agree wholeheartedly that this was a moment in time we will cherish for the rest of our lives. From Crawford Bay to Nelson and beyond, we have witnessed God’s favour and blessing faithfully at work.
But this journey has never been in isolation. You—the church—have always been there with us, supporting us, strengthening us, and championing the vision God placed in our hearts.
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you for the sacrifices you have made, the time you have given, and the effort you have invested in supporting that vision. This past weekend, as you came to express your gratitude to Doreen and me, I was deeply moved. It means more than I can easily express.
Your love and kindness during this significant transition have been precious beyond words.
So, I say it again: Thank YOU!
Thank you for allowing me to be your pastor. Thank you for caring for me. Thank you for loving me.
Thank you for supporting Haiti Arise.
This is Kingdom work we have shared together.
Communion Sunday
This Sunday, we will have communion, so if you are joining us online, be prepared at home with some grape juice and bread as we share in this special time together.
