Emotional Health

Do you feel emotionally stuck?  Are you content with your emotional health or are you wishing you could be healthier in this area? Sometimes we get so used to our emotional dysfunction, we begin to think the way we feel is normal.  Sometimes we can lose hope and feel we will never be healthy in our mind. The scripture makes a promise that we can have a “sound mind” 2 Timothy 1:7.

The Healing Invitation

This is good news. Jesus said, come and follow me. When we come into agreement with His invitation everything changes. We receive eternal life. With receiving eternal life, God begins the process in making us ready to live forever. One of those areas He wants to heal us in, is in the area of our mind.  Before you were a follower of Jesus, you may have experienced abuse, abandonment, an undisciplined home life, or even a privileged spoiled life (this can be as bad as other abuses). These tragedies can have a profound effect on one’s emotional health.  Couple this with disappointments in relational break ups, experiencing personal loss, betrayals and unexpected unpleasant events can play havoc with our emotional health.

In the next few weeks we will be talking about how to have lasting emotional health. But for this Blog, let me encourage you with my own journey.  From personal experience I can tell you that it is possible to live in emotional health.  Jesus is as concerned about your soul as he is your spirit. He doesn’t just want you to be saved for eternity, he wants you to experience salvation in the here and now. This salvation includes emotional health. I started out by asking, are you emotionally stuck?  If your answer is yes, why not invite God the Holy Spirit into your emotions, mind, soul and heart to begin the transformation process right now. Go ahead, do it right now. Then let’s journey together on this road to emotional health.

Looking forward to tackling this important spiritual and health issue this Sunday morning. See you there as we explore and celebrate our successes together.
