Once a person said to me, “ones lack of planning doesn’t constitute a crisis for me.” Hmmm, I have that happen to me a lot. A person messes up and now they want me to fix it. Right now too. I understand the pressure, the pain, the fear that people deal with when an unplanned emergency appears. And when that help doesn’t materialize, some people are offended, feel devalued, and marginalized. They often go away frustrated and angry at the person unwilling or unable to help. It is misdirected. A better approach might be to give thanks for the discipline of pain, which will undoubtedly be forthcoming as a direct result of ones lack of planning and foresight. Here the saying is true, no pain no gain. If we bail people out every time they have an “emergency” then they may never learn to take care of themselves by planning, making preparations, and setting aside provisions for the inevitable
I think this might be the root cause of why some people have lost their faith in God. I believe in God. And as such I believe that God can help me in times of trouble. And He has. And sometimes He doesn’t. God does not want me to be going from crisis to crisis simply because I was undisciplined. My destiny is to be successful. If I am in a perpetual state of emergency, I will never be able to experience all the blessings that God has for me. Therefore, God sometimes doesn’t answer my prayer of desperation. Instead, he allows the natural course of events unfold and I experience a little suffering or pain. This is a crucial moment in the development of Jim Reimer. Will I get mad or become glad that God is so loving that he is willing to teach me how to be better prepared. If I remain thankful, then I am open to teaching, to learning, to change.
Jesus taught the role of the Holy Spirit is to guide us. Holy Spirit will do just that, he will guide you into all truth. He will not force you, but guide you. When we allow Holy Spirit to guide us, and we take his lead, then we will be prepared and ready for any disaster that may overtake us.
Some people are afraid of the future, not me. I know that if I allow the Holy Spirit to guide me, then I will be properly prepared for whatever may come. Do I have all the answers? Never. But I know this, if I do my best, God will do the rest.
This Sunday, I will be speaking about the role of the Holy Spirit in guiding our lives. If you feel like you are spinning, going in circles or never succeeding, this message may be the perfect one for you.

This Sunday is Communion Sunday. It is when we come together as a family to eat at the Lords table. Our theme at the communion table will bethe life we have through his death. Jesus said, if anyone is thirsty, they can be refreshed, rehydrated spiritually, and restored in every way. What a blessing it is to have God in our lives.
