Preparing for 2020
2020 is upon us. Are you looking forward to it? Are you worried? Do you want it to be different or better than last year? Good intentions will never do it. Well meaning thoughts, ideas, and suggestions will fall flat unless accompanied by a plan. New Years resolutions are famous for lasting less than a week. So how does one make lasting change? This will be the subject of the last Sunday of 2019. Preparing for 2020 is the title of my talk. One small change could be a life altering decision for you and your family. And it must begin with our attitude. Attitude is at the core of any change. Without an attitude adjustment, we will have the same results we have always had. The Bible teaches us to examine ourselves to see what is going on inside of us. Good advice. Examining our attitude is a good beginning.
If you are going to change something, one has to first determine what to change. An easy evaluation is to consider the outcomes of your life. Do you like it or feel there needs a better result.
Secondly, consider the habits we have formed. Our habits will produce outcomes (fruit). If the outcomes or fruit of our life is stinky, it may be time to consider changing some habits.
A bad attitude may simply be a habit. We can have a habit of a good attitude or a bad one. When we develop a habit of keeping a good attitude, other things we never imagined begin to fall into place.
2020 can be the best year ever. And it may not require a huge change, just a little attitude adjustment.
This Sunday I will be helping us to prepare for 2020. Looking forward to an exciting year together.
