November 16, 2016

Doreen and I want to express our deepest gratitude for all the prayers and kind thoughts that have come our way. Please know that your flowers, your donations of food and your many expressions of love are so comforting for the both of us. We are getting through this. Children are not supposed to die before the parents. There are many things we have no control over and this is one of those things. What we do have control over are our emotions, our faith and our hope. Today we choose to put our trust in God who is faithful when we are not, who loves when we fade out, and who carries us when we falter. That gives us strength to carry on.

On November 12, 2016 Gordon Felker, loving father, dotingson, awesome sports nut, friend of God and the church, left us unexpectedly for a better life in heaven.

Friends are invited to the viewing to pay their respect on Friday November 18th from 7-8:30 pm at Kootenay Christian Fellowship.

There will be a celebration of life for him on Saturday November 19, 2016 at 2:30 pm at Kootenay Christian Fellowship located at 520 Falls Street. This is the same day as the Grand Opening of S.H.A.R.E. Nelson so parking will be limited. Guests are encouraged to use the Nelson Parkade on Vernon Street, just four short blocks away.  In lieu of flowers donations would be gratefully accepted for Our Daily Bread. Donations can be made on line or by interact at KCF office. kootenaychristianfellowship.com

Any donations of baked sweets are welcomed for the reception.

Gordie was an avid sports fan, playing hockey, fishing, skiing, and forever hopeful that the Toronto Maple Leafs would win the Stanley Cup. He loved working with his hands, building and creating beautiful spaces with his ingenuity. While always a servant to the community at large, he never sought the lime light. Gord was always ready to extend a hand where needed.  He will be sorely missed and never forgotten. Gord’s passing has left a big hole in all of our hearts. No more so than for his mom Doreen, his love Julie, and his kids. The promise we have is that we will see our loved ones again as we trust in the eternal life given to us in Christ. While we rejoice in this truth, we still grieve for our loved ones who have been snatched from us.
