How good are you at remembering? Some people can recall exact details from 20 years ago, while others—like me—struggle to remember why we walked into a room.
The Bible talks often about remembering. It even uses markers, like a pile of stones, to remind God’s people of what He had done. Life today moves quickly. We rush from one thing to the next—from crisis to crisis, or challenge to challenge. In the swirl of daily pressures, it’s easy to forget the goodness of God—the times He came through at just the right moment, turning disaster into deliverance.
That’s why, in difficult times, it is wise and life-giving to stop and remember. Remembering restores faith, renews hope, and gives vision for the future. That’s also why we celebrate anniversaries, create picture walls (like the one on our fridge), and set aside days of remembrance. These practices ground us, root us, and keep us steadfast in our principles, beliefs, and faith.
This Sunday, we’ll take time to reflect on who we are as FCA/KCF and as Salt & Light/Forge people. We’ll consider how alike we are, the distinctives God has given us, and how—together—we can see His Kingdom come here in Nelson and throughout the region.
This Sunday @ 10:30am, Andrew and I will each share on who we are and our guiding principles that have brought us thus far. This is an important Sunday, as we continue to merge together becoming the Church God intended for us. Jim Reimer, Elder
