What’s Up @ KCF

Wanna go deeper?

This Sunday we have a special treat! : )  Ron MacLean from Winnipeg is joining us. Ron has been pastoring in Winnipeg, Manitoba for over 40 years and is going to speak on one of our foundations as a church. When I think about the topic of prayer, nobody has inspired me more regarding this than Ron. He doesn’t just speak about it, he lives it out, and that passion for prayer and meeting with God and listening to the Holy Spirit is contagious.

As a church we are going through a series on who we are as a family. As we all know, every natural family is different and places value on various traditions and ways of doing things. And as a church family, the topics that we are speaking about this Fall are values that have been important to us and are things that we are committed to going forward. This is how we want to build.  Prayer is one of these that we can not afford to miss, it really is the heartbeat of our relationship with God, where he wants to meet with us, enjoy him, know him, be known by him, to grow in friendship and hear his heart for us and the world around us. It is in prayer that we receive strength and direction, encouragement and joy, where we can also pour out our hearts and know that he hears us. I can not count the times that I have gone to prayer, heavy and struggling and yet come away with a lightness and joy and hope for what lies ahead, it is miraculous! This is how God meets with us and we don’t even have to be good at it or have all the right words to say, we just have to come!  And he will meet with us.

When you get around people who pray, you can’t help but catch their passion and vision. Many of us might have heard a lot about prayer, but I have asked Ron to share some of his journey with us and I believe if we are open, God wants to encounter us and lead us into deeper levels of friendship with him.

Let’s go deeper! In his great grace!
